GMA: Solve nursing test leak case

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal Arroyo told the Professional Regulation Commission yesterday that she wanted the cheating in the last nursing board tests solved so that the guilty could be punished and the innocent spared.
She gave the order to PRC chairman Leonor Tripon Rosero, who came under pressure to resign after news came out that someone had leaked the answers to some test questions and some examinees got the answers.
More than 17,000 nursing graduates had taken the licensure tests on June 11 and 12, and over 14,000 passed them.
The President’s order indicated she was against canceling the results and having the examinees take another test.
But she said she planned to issue an executive order tasking the Commission on Higher Education to regulate all nursing review centers, and the labor department to have oversight supervision over the Professional Regulation Commission.
“[Rosero] must find ways to solve this mess,” Mrs. Arroyo told RMN-dzXL radio.
She ordered a reorganization of the commission’s nursing board, meaning she had accepted its members’ resignation. But she absolved Rosero of responsibility for the anomaly.
“There are so many board exams that are being conducted [under her overall supervision], but the problem was only with the nursing exams,” she said.
“The rest have gone smoothly.”
Rosero yesterday said she would not resign “unless the President says so.”
“This is my job where I have to do my best, and I don’t want to be pressured by any group,” she said.
The chairman of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas, Dante Ang, had recommended that all examinees retake the tests in two subjects where the answers had supposedly been provided.
Ang was said to have demanded the tests as head of a presidential task force investigating the cheating, but Mrs. Arroyo denied she had authorized him to look into the matter.
“No, he is doing that as a journalist,” she said. “The job of Dante Ang is with overseas Filipinos.”

Make sure you pass! If not, better shut your trap! We'd just like you to feel the anguish and sleepless nights we went through preparing for the exam and now, having pakielameros like you trying to play with our lives!
Asikasuhin mo na lang ang mga kawawang OFWs! Yan ang trabaho mo, yan ang harapin mo!
