PRC's Target date is on December 18, 2006

According to PRC Statement exclusively given to the room watchers, proctors and those that will help conduct the December board examination, their target date on result release is on DECEMBER 18 2006.

This is to kill the rumors in the past 3 days saying that results will be out TONIGHT.

The target date can be 2 days earlier or 2 days later. As long as everything will go on smoothly, Release of the results will be around by then. The sooner, the better.

I just gave the TARGET DATE not the actual date of result release, So dont get me wrong.

A friend of mine is so anxious yesterday. messaging me in yahoo asking if it is true results will be out tonight. Keep yourselves from unecessary anxiety, that is my advice. The coolest thing to do is bring you and your friends who took the board exam to churches, pray and watch a movie after. An early visita iglesia would help. For not so religious person like me, Just play Videogames while waiting for the result or watch tons of DVD.

Do NOT believe text messages spreading everyday that results will be out tonight or tomorrow.... , These exactly happened last june boards exam.. that everyday, Text messages tend to spread saying that results will be out tonight, But it never did until the July 18, which is a month later since the texts start to spread.

Just relax, Unwind... Nobody knows if you passed or failed but YOU and ofcourse, the official results.

I do hope you will have a happy christmas, Because it will break my heart if I know you and I will found out that you failed, because of your sacrifices... You dont deserve to fail! I never knew anyone who took the boards lightly.

Prepare for our grand EB and victory party SOON! Advance congratulations everyone!

GABBLY Having some problems, INCIRCLES Chat will serve for a while.

I gave gabbly a day to fix itself, But it never did. INCIRCLES Chat will take over temporarily until the Gabbly admins fix the problem.

INCIRCLES Chat is flash based, most browsers will have flash plugin enabled. It also limits flooding by setting a maximum typing pace, which is very slow for fast typers like me so don't get pissed off if you will get throttled most of the time.

Private messaging is also enabled in INNCIRCLES Chat, Just click on "PM" bubble beside the chatter's name to message him.

Have fun and I'll see you around.

Budek's Thoughts : December 2006 Board Exam

The hardest part of the exam is not the exam but yung waiting na ginagawa namin for the result. PRC'S Target date is on December 18, 2006... The sooner, The better.

I was assigned sa ARELLANO HIGHSCHOOL sa may sta. cruz, manila malapit sa doroteo jose. It is the best room ever! , Well, he is just doing his job... So walang kidlat na dumating.

Eh di NP1 na, Ofcourse first time ko... Aba may booklet ang PRC! I thought para shang testpaper, it was a booklet pala. Dala dala sha ng BATA paakyat. You know why bata yung nagdadala? Aba hindi ko rin alam. Naka sealed naman sha. Siguro dahil ang bata mahirap i bribe? aba ehwan... bat nga bata nag dadala, may rationale siguro yun.

So we filled up na the forms, Na realize ko na kaya pala hindi nilalagyan ng names yung paper mo is para di ka ma sabotahe or madaya sa loob ng PRC or the other way around.

Rosario montenegro? ... hahahaha. Yung proctor, tinawag ako.. Sabi dervid, can you remove your eyeglasses?

So kumain kain muna ako, at 11 oclock na. I thought may daga sa ilalim ng upuan ko so I looked below and I saw her paa, pilit na sinisingit inbetween the spaces ng upuan. Buti naman may pakiramdam sha at inalis nya when i looked. Kakainis ginagawa nya ba yun Unconciously or nang aasar sha?

Madaming tumawag sakin at nagtanong. I did my best to answer them.

This is it!!! kasi yung NP4 for me eh, make or break.... Ang PRC nanghihingi ng PENCIL for a cause.

[ Biro lang :p knocks on wood .. hehehehe ]

kung ano ano sumasagi sa isip ko.. Parang wala yata akong set, parang may naiwan yata akong walang sagot... at kung ano ano pa.

Honestly di ko alam, Paranoia nalang ata or talagang wala akong nalagay.... But whatever it is, BATO ako...

OO nga no, na realize ko.. napaka impossible bumagsak just because you left a blank! The machine will simple cross it out and make no issue about it.

When I was asked yung difficulty overall sinasabi ko.. EWAN lang.. OK lang... Pera nalang kung ka close kita and I'll tell you how I really feel about the exam.

Nakakamatay ang pag aantay, Hindi ako maka move on.

Basta... Relax lang ako. Kain, tulog, nood, laro... at hindi ako mag aaral. I will give my self a good break deserving naman kasi sha... I reviewed for 350 Days, I never had a break para lang sa local boards. Last na movie na napanood ko yung The devil wears prada... matagal tagal na rin yun.

I am wishing everyone good scores... not only passing scores. Unwind while waiting :) Sana makapasa tayong lahat! Kasi masakit na may makita akong naiiwan.... It breaks my heart.

Good day!

Nursing exam leak is not yet over: school exec

THE leakage involving the June 2006 nursing licensure examination is "not a dead issue yet although the Court of Appeals (CA) already ordered some examinees to retake some sets of the recent test", a nursing school official said.

Grace Lacanaria, dean of the Saint Louis University (SLU) College of Nursing, said the issue might even reach the Supreme Court (SC), adding that even the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) might investigate the manner by which the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) recomputed the scores of the examinees.

Sun.Star Network Online's 12th Asean Summit Watch

The PRC regional office has not officially transmitted a copy of those who would retake the test, although Lacanaria said that four nursing graduates of SLU would retake tests III and V.

"We can't do anything, it's the CA that issued an order," she said.

Lacanaria, who is also the concurrent president of the deans of nursing schools in the region, was the one who accused former Board of Nursing (BON) head George Cordero of bribing her just to stop the filing of a petition before the PRC regarding the alleged massive cheating in the June 11 and 12 examinations.

Review centers, led by the R.A. Gapuz as well as the Inress Revies, which is owned by Cordero, had been implicated as the ones who distributed to their reviewees copies of the leakage. The issue eventually led to the conduct of separate investigations by the Senate committee on civil service and government reorganization and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, likewise, ordered that the PRC be placed under the supervision of the Dole instead of it being a separate department in the executive branch.

The Senate committee as well as the PRC and the CA recommended for a retake while administrative charges have been filed against Virginia Madeja and Anesia Dionisio, members of the BON, for allegedly leaking the test questions.

Obstacles to entry of RP nurses to Japan exist despite trade agreement, lawmaker says

Obstacles to entry of RP nurses to Japan exist despite trade agreement, lawmaker says

SENATE Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. has expressed apprehension that the promise of jobs for Filipino nurses and caregivers in Japanese hospitals and other health institutions “may turn out to be an illusion” in view of the stringent requirements for the hiring of foreign medical professionals and the vigorous objection to their entry by the Japanese Nursing Association (JNA).

n exchange for the liberalized entry of Japanese goods into the Philippines, including industrial waste under the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (Jpepa), Tokyo has allowed Japanese hospitals to recruit Filipino nurses and caregivers but not more than 400 during the initial year of implementation of the accord.

Pimentel said the strict requirements imposed by Japan are bound to discourage Filipino health workers, who have the option to apply for jobs in other countries where they have better chances of being hired.

“I understand the rationale for our nurses to undergo formal training in Nippongo but we find the other requirements exclusive,” he said.

Worse, Pimentel said, Japanese nursing professionals have vowed to block the influx of Filipino nurses and caregivers for fear that this may cause a downgrading of employment standards, including a lowering of compensation.

“That seems to be the core of the problem of Jpepa. We are getting less than what we bargained for,” Pimentel said.

According to Pimentel, the Philippines is supposedly promised a certain number of nurses who could go to Japan under the agreement. “But now it looks like we won’t get anything but garbage.”

He said it’s obvious that Japanese nurses fear that the entry of their Filipino counterparts may create certain disadvantages for them, including stiffer competition for available nursing positions.

Pimentel said even the Philippine Nursing Association (PNA) is unhappy over the Tokyo’s tight requirements for Filipino nurses which would make it difficult for them to penetrate the Japanese labor market.

In a-position-paper on the Jpepa, the PNA feared that Filipino nurses may face a lot of discrimination and are likely to be treated as second-class professionals by being given jobs as nursing assistants. It is said Filipino health workers may even end up becoming entertainers or “japayukis” for lack of better opportunities.

The Jpepa will supposedly allow a year-on-year quota of an unspecified number of Filipino nurses and caregivers who will be employed in Japan. Nurses will be allowed to stay in Japan up to three years, and caregivers, up to four years.

However, Pimentel said if it turns out that the requirements imposed by Japan are difficult for Filipino workers to comply with, the treaty sent by Malacañang on November 20 to the Senate may have difficulty getting approved.

‘Reming’ delays nursing exam

‘Reming’ delays nursing exam
By Sheila Crisostomo
The Philippine Star 12/03/2006

Super typhoon "Reming" delayed the nursing licensure exam for three hours yesterday as inclement weather prevented the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) test custodian from reaching the exam venue in the Bicol region on time.

The test was supposed to start at 8 a.m. but was moved to 11 a.m. to give the PRC’s test custodian, who was able to fly to typhoon-devastated Bicol only at 7 a.m. yesterday, ample time to distribute the test questionnaires.

PRC chairwoman Leonor Rosero said that from the Legazpi airport, the test custodian had to be driven on roads that were blocked by electric posts and trees that had been felled by the typhoon.

As a precautionary measure, the PRC avoids distributing test questions way ahead of the examination period. If the questionnaires reach their destination early, they are kept at the vaults at PRC’s regional offices.

"We decided to delay the test because we want it to start simultaneously. We had to make adjustments because of the typhoon," Rosero said in a telephone interview.

Around 41,850 nursing graduates have registered to take the test, including the 1,200 June examinees who were stricken off the PRC’s list of those who passed the exams earlier this year. They initially failed the test but when the agency made a re-computation of the grades to cleanse the test of leakage, they passed.
