UNPUBLISHED POST : Budek's thought after December board exam

Supposedly, dapat pinost ko ito around December 5, 2006 pa but I drafted it nalang dahil parang I said to myself "Walang kwentang post"

Well anyway, since results came out na rin naman... I think this is worth posting. This was my experience while I took the December board exams. I typed this December 5, 2006.

Here it goes :

DECEMBER 05, 2006

Dear Diary,

The hardest part of the exam is not the exam but yung waiting na ginagawa namin for the result. PRC'S Target date daw is on December 18, 2006... The sooner, The better.

I was assigned sa ARELLANO HIGHSCHOOL sa may sta. cruz, manila malapit sa doroteo jose. It is the best room ever! , Well, he is just doing his job... So walang kidlat na dumating.

Eh di NP1 na, Ofcourse first time ko... Aba may booklet ang PRC! I thought para shang testpaper, it was a booklet pala. Dala dala sha ng BATA paakyat. You know why bata yung nagdadala? Aba hindi ko rin alam. Naka sealed naman sha. Siguro dahil ang bata mahirap i bribe? aba ehwan... bat nga bata nag dadala, may rationale siguro yun.

So we filled up na the forms, Na realize ko na kaya pala hindi nilalagyan ng names yung paper mo is para di ka ma sabotahe or madaya sa loob ng PRC or the other way around.

Rosario montenegro? ... hahahaha. Yung proctor, tinawag ako.. Sabi dervid, can you remove your eyeglasses?

So kumain kain muna ako, at 11 oclock na. I thought may daga sa ilalim ng upuan ko so I looked below and I saw her paa, pilit na sinisingit inbetween the spaces ng upuan. Buti naman may pakiramdam sha at inalis nya when i looked. Kakainis ginagawa nya ba yun Unconciously or nang aasar sha?

Madaming tumawag sakin at nagtanong. I did my best to answer them.

This is it!!! kasi yung NP4 for me eh, make or break.... Ang PRC nanghihingi ng PENCIL for a cause.

[ Biro lang :p knocks on wood .. hehehehe ]

kung ano ano sumasagi sa isip ko.. Parang wala yata akong set, parang may naiwan yata akong walang sagot... at kung ano ano pa.

Honestly di ko alam, Paranoia nalang ata or talagang wala akong nalagay.... But whatever it is, BATO ako...

OO nga no, na realize ko.. napaka impossible bumagsak just because you left a blank! The machine will simple cross it out and make no issue about it.

When I was asked yung difficulty overall sinasabi ko.. EWAN lang.. OK lang... Pera nalang kung ka close kita and I'll tell you how I really feel about the exam.

Nakakamatay ang pag aantay, Hindi ako maka move on.

Basta... Relax lang ako. Kain, tulog, nood, laro... at hindi ako mag aaral. I will give my self a good break deserving naman kasi sha... I reviewed for 350 Days, I never had a break para lang sa local boards. Last na movie na napanood ko yung The devil wears prada... matagal tagal na rin yun.

I am wishing everyone good scores... not only passing scores. Unwind while waiting :) Sana makapasa tayong lahat! Kasi masakit na may makita akong naiiwan.... It breaks my heart.

Good day!

Budek Thoughts : Meron pa akong ginawang diary letter ko, pero that was dated June 05 pa 2006. I post ko din sometime. Masarap kasing balikan yung mga sinulat mo before, naalala mo yung mga emotions and feelings na nasasa loob mo and mas na aappreciate mo yung relief na nararamdaman mo after all the hardships.

Ayaw ko namang i edit para maging General Patronage, mawawala yung essence of genuiness.

More jobs abroad for RP nurses under Asean accord

More jobs abroad for RP nurses under Asean accord

By ERNESTO HERRERA

Filipino nurses can look forward to greater overseas employment opportunities in the months ahead with the recent affirmation of a new agreement liberalizing the trade in professional nursing services within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).

Filipino nurses can look forward to greater overseas employment opportunities in the months ahead with the recent affirmation of a new agreement liberalizing the trade in professional nursing services within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Our nurses can now count on easier access to the lucrative job markets of Asean members since the Mutual Recognition Agreement on Nursing Services has been affirmed in the 12th Asean Summit and would soon be implemented by member-countries.

RP nurses in Singapore

The covenant essentially means that Philippine-licensed nurses will be automatically recognized as nurse practitioners by other Asean members. Asean groups 10 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The MRA would expedite the recognition of the qualifications of Filipino nurses, and thus, considerably ease their recruitment and deployment within Asean. This means our nurses do not have to take the national nurse licensure examinations of other Asean members to be able to practice in those countries.

Right now, for instance, Singapore recognizes nurses from Malaysia and Brunei, but not recognize nurses from the Philippines. For a Filipino nurse to practice in Singapore, he or she has to pass the city-state’s nurse eligibility test, similar to the US National Council (of State Boards of Nursing) Licensure Examinations for Registered Nurse, or NCLEX-RN. At present, most of the 4,000 foreign nurses working in Singapore are Filipinos. They all had to pass Singapore’s nurse licensure test.

The Philippines will be the MRA’s biggest beneficiary, since we are now the world’s biggest exporter of nurses. Since the MRA is mutual, the Philippines would also automatically recognize nurses from other Asean members.

The MRA, which is part of a Free-Trade Agreement initiative, had been in the works for years, and was finally signed by the economic ministers of the 10 Asean member-countries on December 8 in Cebu City, and affirmed by Asean leaders attending the 12th Summit also in Cebu City the other day.

The Philippines negotiated with Japan for a similar MRA for health professionals. Japan is a huge potential market for our nurses, physical therapists and caregivers. Japan’s population is aging faster than that of any other country. The land of the rising sun would soon have only two able-bodied workers for each retiree. Our government was right in including an MRA for health services in the proposed Japan-Philippines Free-Trade Agreement, which became controversial because of the toxic waste dumping issue.

758 nursing exam results in Bicol nullified

758 nursing exam results in Bicol nullified
By Shiela Crisostomo

The Board of Nursing has nullified the December 2006 nursing licensure examination of 758 examinees in the Bicol region in consideration of the devastation in the area wrought by super typhoon "Reming."

According to BON member Marco Sto. Tomas, many of the examinees in the region have failed the test and they were flooded with requests from parents and examinees to invalidate the test results.

"The board deliberated on their requests and in consideration of the devastation brought by the typhoon, we decided to nullify the test of 758 examinees," Sto. Tomas told The STAR.

The results of the examination of those who passed have been upheld.

Before the test was held in December, Reming hit the Bicol provinces, notably Albay and Catanduanes, leaving most parts of the region devastated.

At the time of the test, word spread that there was an upcoming tsunami, causing many residents to panic. And seeing their town mates scampering to safety, many examinees in Legaspi City scurried out of the testing centers. Many of the examinees were returned to continue taking the examination, while others totally abandoned the test.

Sto. Tomas said they also considered the "tsunami scare" in deciding to nullify the test results.

SHOUTBOX CHANGED

I changed the shoutbox because yesterday, gabbly was down for some users and those that cannot enter the chat were using the shoutbox. I noticed that it has 60 post a minute limit, which is really, really bad for a shoutbox, considering that there are free shoutbox that offers unlimited post length and number. I liked the oggix shoutbox ever since, But I can't find their site when I planned on putting a shoutbox on the site. Luckyly they are up again... Oggix is a lot better, It's the best free shoutbox in the world.
