Palace asks hospitals to reconsider decision on hiring nurses
Manila (29 August) -- Malacañang is earnestly appealing to all public and private hospitals to reconsider their decision to freeze the hiring of the 2006 nursing licensure test passers.
This, following the announcement of some hospitals that they would defer the hiring of nurses who passed the still in-question licensure test.
Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye expressed belief “that those who passed the board exam fairly should not suffer from the dishonest acts of an erring few.”
“We reiterate the President’s stand that a retake is unnecessary and unfair, particularly for those who come from poor families that had worked hard for their young ones to enter this noble profession.”
Meanwhile, the Palace official pointed out that the nation should let the leakage incident serve as a lesson and a warning to those engaged in such dishonest acts that they not only destroy themselves but also their peers and the whole profession that they aspire to be part of. (PIA—MMIO)
