PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to punish those guilty for the leakage in the nursing board exams last June.

In an interview on radio station dzXL Monday, Arroyo also announced that she would sign an executive order that would place review centers for the nursing board exams under the "regulation" of the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd).

"I talked with the chairman of the PRC yesterday [Sunday] and I told her to find a solution so that the guilty will be punished and those who are not guilty will not be punished," Arroyo said in Filipino.

Arroyo also stood by PRC chairperson, Leonor Tripon-Rosero, who has bucked calls for her resignation amid the controversy.

"Of all the board exams, problems arose only in the nursing board exam, all the others were orderly," Arroyo said.

Arroyo said she ordered Rosero to reorganize the board of examiners for nursing.

The President did not say whether she favored proposals from the academe for a repeat of the nursing test.

Two weeks ago, the Court of Appeals issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the oath-taking of those who passed.
