Call off nursing retake order,

"Spare those who are innocent and give them the opportunity to reap and enjoy the fruits of their honest toils and efforts," Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra yesterday appealed to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Navarra, in his letter to the president, was referring to her order for a retake of tests 3 and 5 of the June 2006 nursing licensure examination following reports of a leakage. The Bacolod Sanggunian is also set to pass a resolution calling on the president to recall her retake order.

Navarra told the president he was bringing to her attention the legitimate clamor of his flock, the parents of the graduates, and the graduates themselves who passed the June board examination who feel they have been unjustly deprived of their rights to practice their profession despite the fact that their names were published as passers.

The bishop appealed to the president to consider the pains and anguish of the parents, many of whom incurred big financial liabilities in order to have their sons and daughters take the board exams.

He also said the frustrations and discouragement of the graduates themselves "can maim for life their bright hopes and dreams for the future." At the same time he told the president that those who are guilty of having benefited from the leak and proven as such should be sanctioned.

Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph MaraƱon yesterday also reiterated that he is not in favor of a nursing board examination retake in Western Visayas where there was no leakage.*CPG

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod will propose an omnibus resolution tomorrow supporting the call of the June 2006 Nursing Board examination passers and their parents not to have a retake of the exams or any portion of it.

They are also calling on the President to recall the order to retake, or, at least, to exempt the nursing graduates and passers of Visayas and Mindanao, who did not review in the indicated review schools, from having to take the examinations.

The SP urged the Presidential Adviser for Western Visayas Rafael Coscolluela and Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella to support the call and present the request to the President.

It said examination takers from Visayas and Mindanao, especially those who graduated from and took their review classes in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, or Western, Eastern, or Central Visayas, have absolutely no participation and are not beneficiaries of said irregularities, that were limited only to Luzon schools, particularly Baguio and other places there, it added.*CGS

hey HINDI NAMAN LAHAT NG FROM LUZON E NAGCHEAT KAYA WAG VISAYAS AT MINDANAO LANG>>>PILIPINAS NGA NAMAN OH KAYA HINDI UMUUNLAD E KANYA KANYA GINAGAWA

i'n not a roman catholic christian, but i want to thank Navarra of what he did.

Sana lng kming taga manila na hindi nmn nag cheat ay ipakipaglaban din ninyo.

YEP.. IF THERE IS TO BE A RETAKE, THEY HAVE TO REIMBURSE EVERYTHING THAT EVERY STUDENTS HAVE INCURRED FOM TAKING THE EXAM ... I AM AN OFW IN SAUDI AND I TOOK A MONTH OFF FROM WORK AND PAID ALL MY EXPENSES JUST TO TAKE THE NLE. I WASN'T ABLE TO SPEND MUCH TIME WITH MY FAMILY IN MINDANAO JUST TO REVIEW HERE IN MANILA ( I ENROLLED AT GAPUZ WHICH THEY EVEN PINPOINT TO HAVE THE LEAKAGE ... WHICH I STRONGLY REFUTE) I DID PASS THE EXAM ( THIS WAS MY SECOND TIME). NOW, A RETAKE IS LARGELY DEBATED UPON BY DIFFERENT AGENCIES AND INDIVIDUALS BECAUSE OF THE SAID "EXAM LEAK". I RESPECT THE CONCERNS OF THOSE WHOSE INTENTIONS ARE PURELY TO WIPE OFF THE SMEAR AND REGAIN THE SO-CALLED INTEGRITY OF NURSING PROFESSION. BUT ON TRYING TO UNDO WHAT HAS BEEN DONE... THE RIGHTS OF THOSE STUDENTS WHO PASSED SHOULD NEVER EVER BE OVERLOOKED.. BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE IN THE BATCH GOT HOLD OF THE SO CALLED LEAK... AND IF "SOME" HAVE HAD... STILL, THE VERDICT SHOULD NOT BE PASSED ON TO THE STUDENTS BECAUSE WE ARE THE VICTIMS IN THIS INCIDENT. THERE ARE STILL QUESTIONS OUT OF THE FIVE HUNDRED THAT CAN ADEQUATELY PROVE HOW WELL WE DID ON THE EXAM. CITING NCLEX WHICH ONLY HAVE AT LEAST 75 POINTS OF QUESTIONS THAT CAN INITIALLY CHECK THE COMPETENCY OF A GENERAL NURSE... WOULD 385 POINTS BE A WEAK MEASURE OF COMPETENCY???

WHERE WOULD JUSTICE STAND HERE?
BEING A NURSE IN SAUDI HAVE GIVEN ME CHANCE TO PRACTICE MY PROFESSION, BUT IT WAS SO SAD THAT I CAN'T EVEN BE NURSE IN MY OWN HOMELAND. THE MOMENT I FOUND OUT I PASSED THE EXAM, I WAS THEN PLANNING TO PRACTICE THERE EVEN WITH VERY SMALL COMPENSATION SO I CAN SPEND TIME WITH MY CHILD ( WHILE COMPLETING REQUIREMENTS FOR GREATER OPPPORTUNITIES ELSEWHERE). FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS, I'VE BEEN BOTHERED BY THE ISSUE. AND THE MORE I GOT WORRIED WHEN I HEARD WHAT THE PRESIDENT SAID LAST WEEK. WANNA SAY "LOOK WHO'SE TALKING"...

PROBABLY WE CAN SET TRAVEL TO ROME AND SEEK WHAT THE POPE HAS TO SAY IN THE CONTROVERSY...

Everyone!

Let us not forget that all this recent development in the 2006 NLE were escalated out of proportion by the MEDIA, first of all due to the filing of TRO by UST... the delaying tactic gave opportunity for the politicians to meddle in the issue which WAS ALREADY RESOLVED BY THE PRC IN THE FIRST PLACE! BY THE EXCLUSION OF TEST 5 AND PART OF TEST 3...

NLE WAS ALREADY LEAKAGE FREE BEFORE THE ISSUANCE OF TRO!!!

DON'T LET YOUR MIND BE CLOUDED BY THE PLOT OF EGOTISTICAL GOV'T OFFICIAL IN THE PERSON OF DANTE ANG, OR DEAN TUAZON, WHO INSTEAD PROTECTING OUR IMAGE IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HAD DONE OTHERWISE...

OR LET US NOT FORGET WHY UST FILED THAT CONTROVERSIAL TRO... SO THAT JUNE 2006 BOARD PASSERS WON'T BE ABLE TO TAKE THEIR OATH & GET THEIR LICENSES...IT'S FOR THE SOLE SELFISH OBJECTIVE - UST SCHOOL RANKING IN THE BOARDS!!!

DON'T BE DECEIVED!!!
