Lawyer Rene Saguisag is set to file a motion to sanction against Labor Secretary Arturo Brion before the Court of Appeals (CA) for delaying the oath-taking of nurses who passed the controversial board examinations in June, ABS-CBN News reported Saturday.
Saguisag said that Brion must be held accountable for his decision to stop the oath-taking despite the appellate court’s ruling on the issue.
On October 13, the court’s First Division ordered the Professional Regulation Commission to swear in the over 17,000 new nurses who passed the leakage-tainted Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE), almost two months after a restraining order from the CA stopped the oath-taking.
The appelate court ruled, however, that the 1,687 board passers would have to retake Tests 3 and 5 of the five-part NLE.
Some 2,000 to 3,000 board passers, along with their parents, were already gathered at the PRC auditorium when Chairwoman Leonor Tripon-Rosero announced the cancellation of the oath-taking ceremonies.
Rosero made the announcement after Brion said that the court's decision was not yet final and executory.
Saguisag said that even though the board passers finally took their oaths on Friday the CA should not let Brion get away with the damage he has inflicted on the nurses and their parents.

Atty. Rene Saguisag's filing of a motion to sanction labor Secretary A.Brion before the CA is a welcome move. Secretary Brion deserve justice the kind of justice he wants to inflict to thousands of nurses and their parents.First this guy says he wants malacanang to be decisive by attempting to issue an executive order for general retake before CA ruling. When the CA ruled differently he then turn around and again delay the oathtaking to wait for the lapse of 15 days. There is more malice than stupidity in his action. A lot of people like him are academically outstanding(bar topnotcher) but lacks simple judgment.

I just hope, Brion won't be able to get away with the action he made hurting thousands of nursing students and their parents when he stopped the "oath taking". It was very evident that he used his power over CA to push his biased judgment! He had inflicted pain to thousands of student nurses, thus, a case suit against him should really be filed!
