3 gov’t execs snub Senate inquiry
Senator Richard Dick Gordon expressed dismay over the failure again of three government officials to attend the Senate inquiry yesterday on the reported leakage of the 2006 Nursing Licensure Examinations held last June 11 and 12.
Gordon said the absence of lawyer Elfren Meneses, chief of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Anti-Fraud Division; Leonor Tripon-Rosero, chairman of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC); and Engr. William Malitao of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is another indication of lack of interest by the government to cooperate with the Senate.
We are conducting this investigation not for political purposes but in aid of legislation, said Gordon.
On the other hand, Senaotr Rodolfo Biazon, chairman of the Senate Committee on Civil Service and Government Reorganization, said the three officials he invited have similar explanations. (Rolly T. Carandang)
