Nograles rejects retake of nursing board exam

House Majority Leader Prospero Nograles yesterday opposed any possibility of a retake of the nursing board exam even in the face of allegations of a leakage during the June licensure examination, saying this would be unfair for those who have worked very hard and passed the board fair and square.
Nograles advised the Professional Regulatory Commission to uphold the regularity of the June Licensure exam pending concrete findings on who among the passers were aided by examination leakages.

“It is better to assume the regularity of the exam because it would be criminal to punish everyone. Many of my constituents who passed the board spent a fortune and so many sleepless nights just to pass the exam and it would be irresponsible to bring them to the same ordeal once again. A retake should be out of the question,” Nograles said.

“I even know of a constituent who is supposed to already have a training in a hospital in my district but was told to wait until the whole fiasco is fully resolved,” he added.

Nograles said that what the PRC should do is to get to the details of the anomaly and identify specifically the examinees who may have benefited from the examination leakage.

This can be done by zeroing in on the review centers which may have received the leakage.

“If you have the names of the review centers, it’s now easy to identify those who have enrolled in these review centers. They should be the only ones who should retake the licensure exam,” Nograles said.

Out of 42,006 exami-nees, 17,821 passed the nursing licensure exam last June but the formal oath-taking of the passers which was scheduled this month may be put on hold by the PRC.

I agree with this article....what have been stated is JUST for all of the INNOCENT EXAMINEES.. it their responsibility to find out the review centers who have been given the leakage....DO NOT LET THE INNOCENT SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES FOR THEY HAD WORKED HARD TO PASS THIS BOARD EXAM.....

"TO ALL NORTHCAP REVIEWEES JUNE 2006-- KAYA NATIN TO MGA TOL!!!! D TAO PAPAYAG NA MAG RETAKE, TAYO AY MGA BIKTIMA NG MSAMANG KAGAGAWAN NG IBA"
