THE Professional Regulation Commission has four nominees to fill the vacancies in the seven-member Board of Nursing (BON), PRC chief Leonor Tripon-Rosero said Wednesday.

Outside the Senate hearing on the June nursing board exam leakage, Rosero said the names would be submitted to the Office of the President by September 27.

She said her office will request that the processing of the nominees be done as soon as possible so that the new BON members can prepare for the December 2006 nursing board exams.

The BON prepares the questions for the nursing board exam, another of which is scheduled for December.

Rosero said that, of the 29 nurses the PRC has invited to the BON, two have replied. One more has volunteered to join the board while she is talking to yet another.

She said the Presidential Management Staff will conduct a background check on the candidates once their names are submitted.

the PRC head said some 20,000 nursing graduates have already applied to take the December board exams although 60,000 are expected to take the test.
