5 named to Board of Nursing

(UPDATE) PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has signed the appointments of five of the seven new members of the Board of Nursing (BON), Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said Tuesday.
The new appointments replace old BON members who resigned in the wake of the leakage scandal that hit the June 2006 nursing licensure examinations.
Among the BON’s major tasks is to prepare the contents of the nursing board exam.
The Professional Regulation Commission and Department of Labor and Employment have yet to submit recommendations for the two remaining BON seats.
Appointed to the BON are acting chairman Carmencita Abaquin and acting members Leonila Faire, Betty Meritt, Perla Po and Marco Antonio Sto. Tomas.
