UST nursing college flooded with hate mails

ONE OF the nursing schools that helped block the oath-taking of new nurses ordered by the Court of Appeals has been getting hate mails.

Identifying themselves as passers of the June 2006 nursing licensure exams, the letter senders were generally angry at the position taken by the University of Santo Tomas' College of the Nursing calling for a retake of the disputed test items by all examinees.

They were also fuming over the decision of UST, along with the University of the Philippines, University of the East and Far Eastern University, to file a motion for reconsideration that helped blocked the CA ruling for a partial oath-taking.

"Retake is not an option to those who passed -- majority are innocent!" wrote a certain Janice in the feedback section of UST's school organ, The Varsitarian.

A certain Erik appeared similarly furious, saying UST’s position on how to resolve the leakage controversy was meant to redeem its allegedly wounded pride.

Jeff Evalarosa, Varsitarian's managing editor, said the school paper had been getting hate mails since the controversy erupted in July. Since then, he said the paper had received at least 15 emails.

Often registering an annual passing rate of around 95 percent, UST's performance suddenly dipped to 84 percent last June, supposedly the lowest in its history. Some professors and graduates blamed the leakage, claiming that those who had benefited from it helped dragged UST's performance because of a higher percentile.

"It was clear that the main intention is not for the integrity of the nursing profession, but because of UST's wounded pride," Erik wrote in the same Varsitarian feedback section.

UST nursing professor Zenaida Famorca said on Tuesday she had also been receiving "threats" in her cell phone, purportedly from angry board passers.

"Famorca, you are on of the dream-spoilers of the (board) passers...beware," read one message.

Another text message appeared to be a death threat for Rene Tadle, president of the UST's nursing faculty association: "Tell Tadle that he won't be a hero for meddling with the nursing board exam. He might end up covered with newspaper."

One email sender appealed to Tadle and company to abandon their position on the controversy.

"Is it right that we are now suffering in the hands of your university?" the sender asked in Filipino. "Let the cheats be punished but let us achieve our dreams."

Tadle, whose motives had been questioned for not being a nurse, earlier explained that UST's position was not triggered by its relatively poor passing rate.

"It's not about one institution getting a lower passing rate," he told the Inquirer, noting that two UST graduates still landed in the Top 10. "It's our responsibility as an institution to protect the integrity of the test."

Famorca on Tuesday said the school's critics should analyze the issue and UST's position well before sending acerbic messages.

"If indeed they are board passers, they're going to be nurses soon," she told the Inquirer. "In dealing with patients, nurses follow what we call a 'nursing process' meaning we first gather data before making judgment. Their problem is that they have made judgments without doing data gathering first."

Famorca said the motion for reconsideration filed by UST, UP, FEU, and UE did not ask for a temporary restraining order on the oath-taking scheduled by the Professional Regulation Commission last week.

She said one of its appeals was merely to keep the PRC from providing the list of the 1,687 examinees that the CA had ruled should retake Tests III and V. "The PRC has made so many mistakes already. It's not credible anymore," she noted.

"We all want to bring the leakage issue to closure and we were hoping that the CA decision would do this," the four nursing schools wrote in a joint statement explaining their motion last week. "It appears that, rather than resolving the issue, the CA decision raised questions that need reconsideration and clarification."

nursing process? gather ample information? judgemental?

who preferred to exact punishment on all the examinees when all the facts were not yet in?

who went to the media with nothing but a mouthful of allegations and an armful of less than credible witnesses?

who went and said that the june 2006 nle passers were incompetent?

Hindi kami nagbibiro...Ito lang ang masasabi namin Tadle at taga UST "Utot Sabay Tae" Ang taong pinandidiliman ng isip ay nakakalimot sa batas at ang taong nagigipit ay sa patalim kumakapit at malapit na kami diyan....

Matindi ang ginawa nitong si Tadle at kanyang mga alipores. Mas matinde pa sa stigma and trauma na dadalhin ng isang student ang sama nito habang buhay at ng kanilang mga mahal sa buhay or member of the family.

Hindi nito iniisip ang kanyang bawat hakbang kung meron masasagasaan at magiging epekto nito sa bawat buhay ng bawat nursing examinee.

"MULTIPLE JEOPARDY" Yan ang epekto nito sa isang Nursing board passers kung magkakaroon ng retake.

Marami kang nasagasaan hindi lang nursing examinee kundi magulang mga kapatid at iba pang kaibigan at mga mahal sa buhay...

Isa ang family namin na nasira ang takbo ng buhay dahil sa TRO. Paalis na sana ang brother ko puntang ibang bansa dahil pasado na siya sa Nursing board, nasira at hindi na natuloy dahil sa ka T'TRO. Sa ngayon ay halos utang na lang muna kami ng utang kung saan-saan para lang makaraos sa pang-araw-araw at ito ang hindi nalalaman ng mga tulad nina Tadle, Ang at Briones at iyong iba pa na nakikisaw-saw for their own personal interests.

if this people really cared for our country, FOR the INTEGERITY OF NURSING PROFESSION, noon pa sana nila nilinis ang sistema ng 'nursing profession'... these people are driven by personal interests - PRIDE & HYPOCRISY... that's why nag-iingay sila ngayon...

KAHIT KELAN PO NDE BATAYAN KUNG SANG SCHOOL KA GALING FOR U TO PASS THE NLE.IM A 2ND COURSER. I TOOK MY 1ST BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN ATENEO.PERO NUNG NAGNURSING AKO NAKUHA KO SYA IN 2-3 YRS TIME IN A SCHOOL W/ NO NAME AND I PASSED THE NLE BOTH THE RECOMPUTATION AND ORIGINAL COMPUTATION.

Naging iskolar din ako ng bayan (graduate of UP) sa aking unang kurso. Gusto kong maging isang duktor ngunit sa kahirapan ng pananalapi, "napilitan" kumuha ng nursing. Ngunit sa kabila nito, sa loob ng tatlong taong ginugol ko sa pagaaral ng nursing, natuto kong pahalagahan at mahalin ang ang napiling propesyon. Naisip ko na mas taos pala sa puso ang paraan ng paglilingkod ng isang nars. Bilang isang simpleng mag-aaral na nakapasa sa board, nalulungkot ako sa sulat ng dekano ng UP college of nursing sa PNA US. Bagamat hindi naman ako nagmamadali na makaalis ng bansang ito, nalulungkot ako sapagkat kapwa ko pa nars ang mismo "naninira" sa aming propesyon. Naninira,... sa paraang sa halip na TULUNGAN umangat ang kalidad ng ibang nursing school sa bansa, ay mistula nitong pinapabagsak at SINISIRAAN ang ibang paaralan na nasa mas "mababang antas" ng kalidad. Nakakalungkot, sapagkat noong nagaaral pa ako sa UP, isiniksik na sa aming isipan ang maglingkod sa sambayanan, "serve the people" ika nga.Ang paglilingkod na ito ay sa paraang paglubog sa sarili sa mga nangangailangan at pagtulong sa kanila at hindi sa pamamagitan ng pagmamalaki ng sariling kagalingan at pagkakalat ng kakulangan ng iba. Dean Tuazon, Hindi ko alam kung na "mis-quote" ka lang o mali lang ang aking pagkakaintindi ngunit sa pamamagitan ng aking simpleng pang-unawa, masakit ang aking nabasa. Sa mga kapita-pitagang institusyon ng nursing ng UP, UST, UE at FEU: TIGILAN NA NATIN ANG KAISIPANG TAYO LANG ANG MAGALING SAPAGKAT HINDI LANG KAYO ANG NASA SENTRO NG MUNDONG ITO. Madami ang mga mag-aaral ng nursing sa mga probinsya ang karapat dapat din, at kadalasan, sila pa nga ang natitira sa ating bansa para maglingkod sa ating bayan, at pilit na nagsisikap upang paangatin ang propesyon nating ito. Sila ang mga tumatao sa maliliit at malalayong ospital at pagamutan, dahil hindi sila galing sa mga "reputable nursing schools," at walang perang pangtustos sa mga gastos ng nclex at iba pa, ayos na sa kanila ang makapaglingkod at mabigyan ng pagkakataong magkatrabaho sa propesyong gusto nila, at syempre kumita ng pera para pantustos sa mga pangangailangan. Hahaha!Even if magretake pa ng 50x and magtop pa ang UST sa lahat ng retakes, it will never change the fact that last June 2006, hindi UST ang top performing school and 3 cum laudes nila ang hindi nakapasa..hahaha!nakakahiya!

kung talagang totoo itong nabasa ko na nagpapakalat ng 'poison letter' ang dekano ng UP sa PNA US para siraan at iaangat ang mga sarili nilang mga paraalan sa mga kano...ay talagang nakakalungkot, dahil matas ko mang isipin na isang kapwa ko pilipino at nars ang gagawa nito...lalo pa at itoy bahagi ng institusyon na ang perang ginagastos ay pera ng bayan...tsk,tsk lalo lang tuloy tumibay ang aking hangarin ang na layasan ang bansa kong mahal kahit na masakit man sa aking kalooban...para sa mga taga UST,UE,FEU at UP, lalong lalo na sa inyong mga dekano mabuhay kayo at sanay makinabang kayo sa pinaggagawa nyo na siraan ang iba para sa sariling kapakanan nyo...dahil kung hindi kawawa naman kayo...hindi kayo dapat kaasaran bagkus ay dapat kaawaan,,dahil kayo na ang pinakamababang uri ng mga taong namumuhay sa mundong ito....tsk,tsk!!

Kung binabasa ko ang mga pahayag ng UST at ng katulad nilang school na pro-retake ay parang believed na believed sila sa kanilang sarili at parang sila lang ang merong paniniwala about Integrity and dignity at parang saklaw nila lahat ang iba pang institutions over and above fighting that?

Matindi na talaga ang "HALLUCINATION" nila lang na silang lang ang meron magagaling na students at parang hindi na mababali ang ganitong paniniwala nila kahit na ano pa ang mangyari kaya hindi sila titigil sa kanilang "PRIDE"

Actually all Nursing board passers and students alike are all striving for dignity, Ingtegrity and honor and similar terms whatsoever...

What Nursing board passers are after is for fair, equity and or justice...

Itong si Tadle; matindi ang pride. Hindi nito pinaniniwalaan ang sinasabi ng courte hanggat hindi pabor sa kanilang side. Hindi na totoo ang sinasabi nitong they are for Integrity and dignity...They are actually fighting for "PRIDE" !!!!

Sino pa ba ang dapat paniwalaan? nagpasiya na ang court?

Itond taong ito kung tao man talaga ito ay walang pusong tao. Hindi nito iniisip ang taong mape-perwisyo sa bawat hakbang niya. Hindi niya tinitimbang kung meron siyang masasagasaan. Basta ang iniisip niya ay iyon...tapos na... ganoon lang. Parang siya lang ang meron monopoly magsalita for Integrity and dignity.

Kung sa Captain of the ship ay hindi diya marunong mag-balance kaya maaaring lumubog ang barko. One sided lang siya. Siya at sila pa mismo ang sumisira ang Nursing Institutions.

Sabi ni Tadle sa TV ay hindi raw siya natatakot sa banta at kaso na kanyang kakaharapin.

Alam naman namin na ganoon talaga ang sasabihin mo Tadle, kasi nga punong puno ka na nang "pride" sa buhay mo at maaaring sa ganito ay maging artis ka pa kasi baka ma-discover ka pa ni Mother Lily di ba?

What we are actually after, for is for you to feel the same experience that we feel before. Hindi naman takutan ito. Kung sakali man meron threat sa iyo ay maaaring kasalanan mo na rin kasi masyado kang ma-papel sa buhay at gutom na gutom ka kasi sa exposure at maaaring balak mo pang mag-artista o kumandidato at hindi nakapagtataka sa pagdatng ng araw artista ka na or kandidato ka na...

Tandaan mo Tadle kung gaano ka tigas ang ulo ay ganoon rin ang tigas ng ulo namin para harapin ka.

Una sa lahat hindi ka marunong sumunod sa batas...

Sa batas point by point ay dapat patunayan ang mga charges, hindi tulad mo na you jump into conclussion na "retake" kaagad.

1. sabi daw ng PRC meron leakage at napatunayan na meron, ok sige, one point yan for retake...
2. ang ikalawang tanong ilang students ba ang nagkaroon ng leakage at sino. Kung meron umamin ilan sila?
3. Anong araw nakuha ang leakage para malaman natin kung sapat na mapakinabangan ang leakage kung meron man...
4. Meron bang nahuling nagdala ng codigo sa exam?
5. Kung meron katibayan, good! pero kung walang mapatunayan, what is the reason for retake??????

At marami pang circumstancial evidence para mapatunayan at hindi kaagad tatalon sa conclusion na retake, baka naman iisa or dalawa lang ang nakakuha ng retake at puro kwento lang ang lahat di ba???

Katibayan ang kailangan Mr. Tadle at hindi pasikat!!!

Ganoon lang Mr. Tadle, humahanap ka lang ng sakit ng ulo...
