US nursing officials receive gov’t assurances

President Arroyo yesterday assured the US National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) that the government is moving to restore the integrity of the professional licensure examinations after the leakage in the June nursing tests.

The President met with US nursing officials led by Faith Fields in Malacañang amid government efforts to convince them to consider the Philippines as an accredited venue for the American licensure examinations for nurses.

Mrs. Arroyo said she was aware of the negative impact of the recent nursing exam scandal particularly on Filipino nurses seeking employment abroad, adding the government would not condone any irregularity.

"We were able to identify those who were involved in the nursing exam leakage and we are bent on filing criminal charges," the President told officials involved in the nursing state boards in the United States.

Fields, president of the NCSBN, said the international community is closely monitoring the developments in the nursing leakage issue and the government’s investigation.

"We are very interested to see that you handle the crisis and I think it’s something that you don’t want to waste opportunity to make your own system better. But how you handle is really up to the Philippines," she said in an interview with reporters at the Palace.

Fields, however, admitted that Manila’s application for inclusion on the list of international testing centers of the US National Commission on Licensure Examination (NCLEX) has been put on hold following the leakage scandal.

"Obviously it has affected (the application) because we were set to make a decision on that when the leakage occurred. We decided to back off to get the results of how you handle that," she said.

Despite the tainted nursing exams last June, Fields maintained that American nursing boards remain confident in the nursing education system in the Philippines.

"We are still hopeful and confident of our partnership in terms of nursing education. We want to keep up the training and employment opportunities for your Filipino nurses in the United States," she told the President.

During the meeting, the President also assured the visiting US nursing officials about government’s resolve to upgrade the quality of the country’s nursing educational system, hospital facilities and standards.

"Nursing education needs enhancement and we are focused on it. We are spending money to support our local hospitals and upgrade their level from secondary to tertiary," she told the NCSBN team.

-Member, Club 1687-

if its any consolation test 3 and 5 lang retake mo kaysa naman sa 1-5 na siyang karapatdapat sa bagsak ang general average according to RA9173.

TEKA MUNA PWEDE MAG ISIP KA. SINO BA NAG FILE NA MA NULL ANG IBE FORMULA DBA ANG UST BKIT SA ANN KA NAGAGALIT? KASALANAN BA NILA YUN? DI SILA NANG IWAN SA ERE OK.

Pero sagutin pa rin ito dapat:

1. Ano ang average ni kasaang Toto?
2. Saan siya nagreview?
3. Ano ang masasabi niya sa pandaraya?
4. Bakit niya ginagamit ang ANN members na magvolunteer sa PRC?
Ako nagvolunteer din minsan.
5. Bakit niya pinabayaan ang 1687?

Just asking.

Oo nga naman. Ano ang average ni Toto before the Ibe formula?

Kung totoo ang ipinaglalaban natin, magsabi tayo ng totoo, Toto.

FYI, di ako kasama sa 1687. I passed FAIR and SQUARE. Ibig sabihin, di ako nagreview sa Gapuz, INRESS at Pentagon. OK, Toto?

yehey now we know!

Toto you can now stop hiding behind Rosero's skirt, lusot na ang 75 na grade mo! time to kiss your mama!

Better yet, its your turn to wear her skirt! Bongga!

I fought for all of us with Toto & Grace, but we cannot win them all. It's just sad to hear the comments above as if we have done nothing for our cause. Maybe it's that kind of attitude & reasoning that you have on why you belong to those who failed. You simply cannot comprehend. Please use the nursing process & start by gathering FACTS before making your analysis. Your questions & doubts only proves you have made your diagnosis of the situation without FACTS at hand.

In layman's terms, you FAILED, fair & square & there's nothing even the best attorney can do for you. YOU are LUCKY enough to be given a chance to RETAKE w/o paying for it.

Do you have any suggestion how to defend your case? If you do, then do it!

Still, we are trying to make the court understand that it has been the practice of PRC to to provide a buffer since time immemorialin all professions under PRC.

If you think you don't deserve to RETAKE, then STAND UP & Fight for your right instead of badmouthing people on this forum!

What have you done to fight for your right? I'm very sure... None!

THE SO CALLED EX-ANN MEMBER:
DONT BE A SORE LOSER! IM SURE KUNG WALA KA DYAN SA 1687 EH HINDI KA MAGSASALITA NG GANYAN.
HINDI LAHAT NG 75 ANG AVERAGE AY DELIKADO PAG IBINALIK SA DATING FORMULA.
NEVERTHELESS, I DONT NEED TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING TO YOU. I KNOW HOW PEOPLE LIKE YOU THINK. ILL JUST PRAY THAT YOU BE ENLIGHTENED.
I ADMIRE TOTO, GRACE & OTHER ANN LEADERS FOR FIGHTING FOR ALL THESE PEOPLE.
LET US THANK GOD THAT ONLY TESTS 3&5 WILL BE TAKEN INSTEAD OF THE WHOLE. MADUGO YUN DIBA?

tsk tsk tsk.lumalabas na mga tunay na kulay. oo nga, toto time to wear Octaviano's skirt or di kaya skit ni nathanniels...
